About Me


David L. Swift is an experienced Board Chair and Company CEO who manages a leadership consulting business, Swift Consulting Services, LLC, providing coaching to executives and boards. In addition, Mr. Swift is Chairman of [Hoonigan], a leading automotive aftermarket company, Chairman of building products company OmniMax, Chairman of P1 Service Group, and Chairman of the Saunders Finger Lakes Museum. Mr. Swift recently rejoined the Board of Advisors of Dartmouth College's Thayer School of Engineering (he had been on the Board from 2014-2019).


In December of 2021, Mr. Swift retired from full-time employment as the Chairman and CEO of SSB (Serta Simmons Bedding, an Advent International portfolio company). ​​In April of 2019, Mr. Swift joined SSB as Chairman & CEO.  He had been appointed Chairman of SSB in March of 2013. He had served as Executive Business Partner/Managing Director of Advent International from 2014 through 2019.  During Mr. Swift's years at Advent, he was Chairman of the Board of three of Advent's portfolio companies (SSB, ATI Physical Therapy, and Cotiviti), serving as Chairman of multiple committees and participating on other committees. In addition, Mr. Swift drove leadership coaching at several Advent portfolio companies and assisted in Advent deal formation in North America, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Prior to the Advent engagement, Mr. Swift was President and Chief Executive Officer, and Board Member, of Goodman Manufacturing (a Hellman & Friedman portfolio company) from April 2008 to April 2014.  Following Daikin’s acquisition of Goodman, Mr. Swift was a member of the Board of Directors of Daikin Industries, Limited (TSX: 6367), for over two years.  Before joining Goodman, Mr. Swift served in a variety of senior leadership roles at Whirlpool Corporation (NYSE: WHR), most recently as President, and Board Member, of Whirlpool from December 2005.  Before joining Whirlpool in October 2001, Mr. Swift served as the President of Eastman Kodak Company’s Professional Group, prior to which he served as the Chairman and President of Kodak’s Greater Asian Region based in Shanghai, China for more than four years.  Mr. Swift began his professional career in 1981 as a manufacturing engineer with Kodak.


Mr. Swift earned a B.A. in Mathematics and Physics, with honors, from Amherst College.  He holds a Masters of Engineering degree from Dartmouth College's Thayer School of Engineering.  He earned an M.B.A., with honors, from Harvard University's Graduate School of Business.
